To view this web content you need to install the Java Runtime Environment

After upgrading to Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 a Java error window keeps popping up with a message that reads as: “To view this web content you need to install the Java Runtime Environment.”

Although it has already been installed and running at the latest version.

 (in french would be:
"Pour afficher ce contenu web installer l'environnement java runtime environment")

The "More Info" directs us to Oracle but it should be linking to the Apple version of Java for OS X.

The fix for this Java Runtime Environment  error window that keeps popping up for no reason is simply installing the official Apple version of Java for OS X from the link below.

Google Chrome error: Your profile could not be opened correctly. Resolved

Resolved, quick fix. I was using Windows 7 the other day and ran into a Google Chrome error saying "error: Your profile could not be open correctly"
How annoying... This is how i fixed the Google Chrome user profile error.
  1. Close Chrome
  2. In Windows Explorer enter the following in the address bar depending on the version of Microsoft Windows you use.
    • Windows XP%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\
    • Windows Vista/ Windows 7/ Windows 8%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
  3. Rename the folder named "Default" to "Backup default."
  4. Open Chrome. It will then create a new "Default" folder automatically.

It worked for me! let me know about you?

How to set startup page default page and homepage in Google Chrome

Surprisingly Chrome isn't obvious for everyone as i was asked "How to set my startup page or default page and homepage in Google Chrome". Of course I do have the answer, here's

How to set startup page in Chrome

The startup page will appear when you launch Chrome.
You can tell Chrome to open to a new tab page.
  1. In the top-right corner of your window, click the Chrome menu
  2. Select Settings. (If you're using a Chromebook, click "Show advanced settings" at the bottom of the page.)
  3. Under "On startup," click Open a specific page or set of pages.
  4. Click the link Set pages.
  5. Enter the web address of the page you want to see when you open Chrome.
  6. Click OK.

and here's

How to set homepage in Chrome

Your homepage is the page you go to when you click the Home button which you can add to your browser toolbar. Here's how to add the Home button and choose a homepage:
  1. In the top-right corner of your window, click the Chrome menu
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under "Appearance," check the box Show Home button.
  4. Below "Show Home button," click the link Change to choose your homepage.
The Home button  will appear to the left of your address bar.

Attention: If your startup page or homepage or the search engine has suddenly changed, it may be malware that did so. If you want to put Google back as your homepage, you can restore your original Chrome settings by going to Settings, scroll at the bottom and clic Show advanced settings, scroll down to the bottom again and clic Reset settings

Feel free to post a comment or ask a question.
